TO CELEBRATE WOMEN WHO ROCK

This web site is dedicated to women who rock in their existence on this planet. They may rock in the music scene, or in the TV arena, or in movies or sports. At this time I am highlighting 25 women who I want to celebrate. They are:

1. The Bangles (Susanna Lee Hoffs, Vicki Anne Theresa Peterson, Debroah Mary Peterson and Michael Susanne Steele) who are one of the greatest all female rock band ever.

2. The Delphines (Kathy Valentine, Kristy McInnis and Dominique Davalos) who rock any place to its core. Kathy kicks ass on lead guitar, Dominique is lead vocals and bass, and Kristy keeps the beat at drums.

3. The Go-Go's (Kathy Valentine, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, Gina Schock and Belinda Carlisle) who started it all in the late 70's and early 80's with their brand of girl punk and rock. Kathy is awesome on bass guitar, Jane is on rhythm guitar, Charlotte executes the riffs on lead guitar, Gina keeps the beat on drums while Belinda sings it to the heavens.

4. Halo Friendlies (Judita Wignall, Ginger Reyes, Claudia Rossi and Natalie Bolanos) who just rock! Natalie shreads on lead guitar, Judita plays the very cool rhythm guitar, Ginger is the master on bass lines while Claudia keeps the beat. The Halos decided to take an hiatus and pursue solo projects in 2004. One of those projects in Ginger's Ginger Sling.

5. The Donnas (Brett Anderson, Allison Robertson, Maya Ford and Torry Castellano) ROCK! That's all you have to say. Allison is a god on lead guitar, Maya is a master of the bass lines while Torry bangs the drums and cowbell. Brett puts it all together with her beautiful voice.

6. Sahara Hotnights (Maria Andersson, Josephine Forsman, Johanna Asplund and Jennie Asplund) who just bring the house down with their punk/rock action! Maria kicks ass on lead guitar, Jennie plays the very cool rhythm/lead guitar, love Johanna's bass lines while Josephine keeps the beat.

7. Lauren Graham, an amazing actress who plays Lorelei Gilmore on TV.

8. Helen Baxendale who I love watching on the screen.

THE BANGLES

These are the Bangles in 1983 when they were starting off chasing their dreams:

These are our girls in 2000 when they reunited after more than 10 years apart, when they suffered and grew:

These are the reunited Bangles in 2000 testing the waters for a reformation tour at the Roxy.
